John Zieman is an artist living and working in New York. Zieman, through the late 1970s and 1980s was pioneering for his use of innovative video and editing techniques. Zieman's videos and installations are a critical examination of media, and how such media impacts both public pyschology and natural and social environments. While editting for artists Dara Birbaum and Nam June Paik in the 1980s, Zieman also produced an ouvre of electronic-pop music. Those experiements will be released for the first time this Fall on a new archival compilation titled New York City 1980-1984, out on confuso editions, a new record imprint based in Rio de Janeiro and New York City.
